Movie Review - The Taking of Pelham 123 - 8.5 Out of 10
by
Bill Bonfanti
The Taking of Pelham 123 is a slick, reimagining of the 1974 original that is filled to the brim with suspense, action and the one thing that is missing from many big budget spectacles, good old fashioned character development. Director Tony Scott has crafted a tension filled thriller with both John Travolta and Denzel Washington sharing a chemistry that propels the film to its rocketing conclusion.

Why do we love The Sopranos? Part 1
by
Ugur Akinci
There is so much guilt involved in loving The Sopranos, perhaps similar to the guilt of enjoying a boxing match.

Why Do We Love The Sopranos? Part 2
by
Ugur Akinci
Sopranos know how to "take care of business." When a guy bumps their car from behind and refuses to take any responsibility for it, and challenges them with a self-righteous "sue me!", they don't sue anybody.

The Sopranos - Inching Towards The Inevitable Sad End
by
Ugur Akinci
A lot of people are facing their own old age and demise. Johnny Sack is already gone after a not-so-dignified bout with cancer in jail. In one scene, after a close up of his head that went bald due to radiotherapy, the director mercilessly cut to a pool ball hit hard by a cue stick. What does that mean? That even the most merciless crime boss of New York is nothing more than a pool ball before the cue stick of fate and time?

In the Loop - Movie Review
by
Matthew Schimkowitz
A movie review for Armando Iannuchi's "In the Loop." The film navigates the frighteningly hilarious world of foreign policy, with an ease and realism.

Movie Review - Where the Wild Things Are
by
Bill Bonfanti
Thanksgiving has come early for Warner Bros. as Where the Wild Things Are is one big, fat turkey. A movie for grownups masquerading as a kids flick, Wild Things doesn't succeed on either level and in turn polarizes both of its audiences.
