History of NBA Finals Dynasties
by
Andy McCarthy
The first dynasty to emerge within the NBA following the 1949 merger of the BAA and NBL was that of the Minneapolis Lakers, who won five NBA championship titles in six years spanning 1948-1954, led by center George Mikan, now a legend within the sport. The next dynasty to emerge within the NBA, during the years spanning 1957-1969, were the Boston Celtics, competing in twelve Finals series during that period and winning eleven NBA championship titles within those thirteen years alone - with eight of them as consecutive wins from 1959-1966. Leading the team to its legendary victories were...

Combined, the Boston Celtics, with their 17 Finals wins and the Lakers (formerly Minneapolis, currently Los Angeles), with their 16 Finals wins have won over half of the sixty-four championship titles in the entire history of the competition - with thirty-three in all...

History of the NBA Finals Trophy
by
Andy McCarthy
The original trophy for the NBA Championship Finals had been an ornate, oversized silver chalice bestowed upon the winner of each year's NBA Finals champion to be kept for the year until the next year's champions would gain possession. The Philadelphia Warriors were the first recipients of the trophy after defeating the Chicago Stags in 1947.

2009 NBA Finals - Professional Basketball Predictions
by
Joshua May
As I write this article, we are two games into the NBA finals and the Los Angeles Lakers lead the series - 2 games to 0 - over Orlando Magic. Last night, game 2 went to the Los Angeles Lakers after Orlando tied the game in the last seconds of the fourth quarter. If I can make my professional basketball predictions, I think Los Angeles Lakers will win the NBA finals, but it's not because I believe Orlando Magic is a bad team. Rather, they I don't believe they have a basic identity/strategy to effectively use all their talent.

NBA Finals Information - Part 1
by
Peter Portero
The NBA Finals are the championship series of the league, set up as a best-of-seven series. The league is divided into two conferences (the Eastern and the Western), and the winner of each conference final meets head on in the NBA finals. The event has taken place at the end of every NBA and, previously, BAA season in history, dating all the way back to 1947.

Game 2 of the NBA Finals
by
Lando Dingayan
Dirk Nowitzki and the Mavericks did it again. With the Miami Heat up by 15 points with 7 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter, the Heat celebrated, visualizing a win and a commanding 2-0 lead against the Mavs, they relaxed, stopped playing, no defense, no intensity and passion that they showed for majority of the game. Then, the Mavericks breathed life into themselves, scored continuously, silencing the deafening Miami crowd, they had an 8-0 run with 4 minutes remaining, continued scoring and before you know it, the Mavericks is stunningly back in the game tying the score to 90...
