Pablo Picasso was encouraged by his father, an art teacher, to follow him into the art scene and at a very early age it was clear that Pablo's natural talent would take him further than his father. He joined the Barcelona School of Fine Arts at the age of 14 and his father sacrificed his own art in order to help Pablo Picasso progress as quickly in his career and training as possible. Picasso spent the years of 1900 to 1906 in what is referred to as the Blue and Rose Period. The achievement of Picasso is shown by the huge number of print reproductions which are made every year from his original paintings, with framed art prints being the most popular choice.

He was a Spanish painter that lived from 1881-1973, and is responsible for, among other things, beginning the cubist movement of art. One of the greats of the Cubist Movement, Juan Gris was born Jose Victoriano Gonzalez-Perez, on March 23, 1887, to a wealthy businessperson in Madrid, Spain. In 1902, he joined the 'Escuela de Artes y Manufacturas' in Madrid to study Mechanical Drawing, only to quit it two years later. During his education itself, he had started contributing to local periodicals. From 1904-05, he started taking his first lessons in painting from the 'Academic' artist Jose Maria Carbonero. In 1905, he adopted the pseudonym of Juan Gris.
