Happy Independence Day

Happy Independence Day
Happy Independence Day - Happy 4th of July!
by
Darryl Mobley
I felt compelled to share some thoughts as we approach/celebrate Independence Day here in the U.S. The thousands of subscribers to my newsletters and clients in my life and business coaching programs live around the world, in many different countries. I cherish each and every subscriber and client. I am often asked to share more of my thoughts on a broader range of issues. And so I will.

Whatever Happened to Independence Day?
by
Darcy Eikenberg
Whatever happened to saying "Happy Independence Day" instead of focusing on "the Fourth of July?" Independence should be important to us, so how did we lose the battle of the words? The author shares five theories.

Independence Day Beseiged
by
Gene Lalor
Briefly analyzing the conclusions of the Harvard study: Fourth of July parades are purely "politically biased events," essentially products of massive Republican conspiracies designed to inculcate a sense of patriotism in children and make them all Republicans. Had Harvard and its study attempted to prove the school and the authors of that study were sick proponents of anti-Americanism and partisanship, they couldn't have done a better job. Rest assured, however, that true Americans will still attend Independence Day parades and other celebrations, wave American flags, stoke up the bbq, scarf down burgers and hot dogs and steaks, and deep in their hearts realize the significance of the holiday. Only the Left as epitomized by Harvard will regard Fourth of July parades as partisan events. Like everything else that's good in our nation, only the Left can reduce America's birthday to an occasion for narrowminded, un-American sentiments.

Independence Day - July 4, 1776 - What Does It Truly Represent?
by
Christopher Lanne
Next month, the United States celebrates Independence Day, the Fourth of July. I suspect that the true meaning of July 4, 1776 is lost to most Americans and most of the World. It is of no small consequence that our Declaration of Independence has become a statement shadowed with the darkness of hypocrisy.

A story of a boy, comparing the behaviors of People of Past and Present towards Pakistan's Independence Day Celebrations. "Look Father! He has got two badges. I'll buy three", says 5-year old Munna to his father pointing towards his friend Kaka. His father recently got back home after spending 3 months on the LOC (line of control) defending the sovereign borders of his homeland, Pakistan.

Israel Independence Day
by

Every year, Israel celebrates the holiday of Yom Ha'atzmaut to commemorate their independence day. On May 14th, 1948, Israel finally declared its independence, which had been a longtime goal of many Zionists. Today, Yom Ha'atzmaut is celebrated on the 5th day of the Jewish month of Iyar. Technically, the celebration can only occur on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. If the 5th of Iyar falls on a Friday, Saturday, Sunday, or Monday, the holiday is bumped forward or back. In 2010, it will be celebrated on April 20th.
