Successful people make empowering choices. Knowing what you want, and clearly asking for that, desiring it, and intending it, is the way to manifest it. Only those who choose wise and strong intentions create a life worth living. Intentions are like guided missiles, leading you to the target of what you desire.

Havergate Island in Suffolk - An RSPB Reserve
by
Will Averill
Havergate Island is famous for its breeding avocets and terns, which can be seen throughout the spring and summer. In autumn and winter, the island provides a haven for large numbers of ducks and wading birds. Boasting five hides and a viewing screen, there's great scope for birdwatching on Havergate Island. A trail cuts through the island, allowing walkers to enjoy a gentle mile and a quarter long stroll across it. The boat trip to the island adds to the interest of your day out, and helps you really feel you're getting away from it all.

North Warren in Suffolk - An RSPB Reserve
by
Will Averill
For great hiking or bird watching, RSPB's North Warren reserve near Aldebuurgh is a fantastic and easily accessible getaway. Way-marked trails lead you through a wide variety of habitats within a relatively small area. Stroll across the heathland to hear Dartford warblers and woodlarks, while bitterns and marsh harriers can be seen in the reedbeds. The wet grassland supports breeding waders and wintering wildfowl, including some of the UK's only regular tundra bean geese.

RSPB Lakenheath Fen
by
Will Averill
Twelve years ago, the land that is now Lakenheath Fen nature reserve was a carrot field with little to offer in the way of wildlife interest. Now it's a wetland area filled with life: marsh harriers, hobbies, bearded tits and warblers. It is one of the few places in the UK where golden orioles breed. There is a flexible nature trail network, four viewpoints and a visitor centre.

The Big Garden Birdwatch
by
Anna Price
The RSPB's Big Garden Birdwatch is the world's biggest bird survey with over half a million people taking part each year to help find out which birds are in need of the RSPB's conservation work. Back in 1979 the RSPB asked its junior members to count the birds in their back gardens over one weekend in January to give a snapshot of the birds that visited UK gardens. The idea was so successful that the survey has run every year since then.

Robert Burns Love Poem: "A Red, Red Rose"
by
Garry Gamber
Robert Burns, a poor man, an educated man, and a ladies' man, is representative of Scotland, much like whisky, haggis, bagpipes, and kilts. He lived a life shortened by rheumatic heart disease, 1759-1796, but his life journey through poverty, informal education, disappointed love, nationalism, and literary and financial success can be identified by all Scots and common men the world over. He has become almost a national symbol of all things Scottish. His life is like a love story with a happy ending.

Scotland's national bard was born in 1759 in the village of Alloway just south of Ayr. Born into a farming family, Burns' grew into an accomplished poet and songwriter gaining popularity with Scotland's literary elite despite his work often attacking the establishment - this was time of the great revolutions in America and France - and championing of the common man. Having failed in farming Burns' became an exciseman in Dumfries where he died aged 37 in 1796.

Used Ferrari - The Appeal Factor
by
Pete Ridgard
It's no secret that Ferrari has a rather large reputation. Ferrari's are known for a fast, powerful engine and a sexy look. If you first thought of the word "Ferrari" you would probably picture one on cherry red with black leather seats, the Ferrari classic logo prevalent on the front hood of the vehicle. Ferrari has been a classic since 1928 when the Italian designer Enzo Ferrari came up with the concept for the vehicle. Since then Ferrari has set the standard for sports cars and luxury cars alike. Ferrari is known for it's speed, and has shown great success in racing, especially formula one racing.

Be Amazed by the Power of a Ferrari
by
Dave C Walls
The classic look of the Ferrari is its blazing race red color next to the distinguished black steed on canary yellow background topped by the Italian flag. Colors have been the essence of luxury when it comes to expensive cars. But what's the Ferrari, and how did its recognition come to be?

Pirate Radio
by
Gina Sharpe
Back in the 80s, or the olden days as my youngest likes to say, we would listen to Radio Jackie. We had plenty of options on the dial but that station played a wider variety of music plus the thought of something mildly illicit was definitely attractive. Twenty years before this pirate radio stations started appearing during the rock and roll era. In this movie set in the late 60s, a group of DJs anchor a ship in the North Sea just outside British waters and broadcast the latest and greatest in music.

Movie Review: My Week With Marilyn (2011)
by
Joel Massie
Perhaps one week with Marilyn Monroe just wasn't enough time. Director Simon Curtis' first foray into feature films surrounds itself in brilliant performances and whimsical humor, but even the most emotional and poignant encounters don't offer the lasting impact of an immersive connection. The young man who accompanies Marilyn becomes immediately smitten with the star but has only a few fleeting days for romance.

Movie Review: Thor 3D
by
Stephen Aspeling
Thor is a joke. Who in their right minds would believe that a blonde muscular caped Scandinavian would possess super strength, the power of flight and run amok whenever the sound of battle filled the air with a big old hammer? It's funny to say that he's the odd one out, because the whole lot of underpants and Lycra-clad superpower boys don't fit in...

Thor Film Review
by
S Martin
I'm looking forward to seeing more of Chris Hemsworth, hopefully not in too many Thor movies, as he has the talent to not just be an action hero; and if there is another Thor movie, I'd love for the same cast to come back, with Branagh directing them again. I think maybe I've just been spoiled, but the whole project would just feel different otherwise. This is the best of the Avenger films since the first Iron Man, and one of the best superhero films I've seen in a while. It makes up, certainly, for The Green Hornet, and is a hell of a start for the superhero season. Captain America comes out soon, The Green Lantern after that, then the Spider-Man reboot... even if they wind up being terrible, at least we have Thor to fall back on. And who better to rely on than him?

Movies in Chianti - A Journey Into Pictures and Tastings
by
Stefano Becheroni
It is not a find that Chianti is considered one of the most fascinating places in the world. The profile of Chianti's hills, the warm colours of wheat fields and vineyard, the nice and genuine nature of its people are just some of the elements that brought together contribute to a multi-sensory experience that the attention of those, who more than any other have been always looking for a continuous emotion, did not miss: the artists.

It's a great year for comic book movies. Movie Review: Thor
by
Andy Gavin
Title: Thor Director/Stars: Chris Hemsworth (Actor), Natalie Portman (Actor), Kenneth Branagh (Director) Genre: Comic-book Action Read: May 9, 2011 Summary: Weird. Other than Marvel's apparent desire to pull a kind of cinematic equivalent of the 1980s "Secret Wars" there really aren't a lot of reasons why this movie needed making. It's actually kind of bizarre, and I can't really imagine that the Thor (as in comic) audience is immense.

Keira Knightley Admits That She Has Acne

Most people were shocked when actress Keira Knightley failed to bag the Best Actress BAFTA award for her role in the 2007 film Atonement, which she starred in with Scottish actor James McAvoy. 10 London Ghosts
by
Clara Ros
Perhaps the most famous of all London ghost stories began in January 1762 when Elizabeth, the twelve-year- old daughter of a parish clerk called Richard Parsons, seemed to become the conduit through which a murder victim could accuse her killer from beyond the grave. Communicating largely through the standard system of coded knocks (one for yes, two for no), the ghost of Fanny Kent, a former lodger with the Parsons, told how she had been poisoned by her common-law husband, William Kent.

Scientists Unlocking 'Black Box Immune System'
by
Jwesly Stifen
Treatments for diseases such as type one diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis have moved a step closer after scientists said they were succeeding in unraveling the "black box" of the human immune system. Researchers in the US claim to have made good progress in understanding the genes that regulate a group of white blood cells known as T cells, which are described as being the body's "frontline" defense. They say that increased knowledge of the genetic basis for this regulation could lead to treatments for autoimmune diseases, rather than just for their symptoms.

The Missed Opportunity of Physics in the Twentieth Century
by
Werner Thurau
Innumerable attempts have been made to bridge the gap between science and faith, usually from the side of faith and often by dressing up the argument in pseudo-scientific language to make it more palatable to scientists. Science has not been convinced because, in order to be convincing, scientific concepts must reach the point where they would also be acceptable to religion. There has been only partial success in this, possibly because the various bits of science that religion has declared acceptable have themselves been in a process of change. This article presents the evidence that certain well-regarded, modern physicists held views in the early twentieth century that could have led to a framework, based on two concepts of reality, within which both physics and faith would have been able to operate. These initiatives were discontinued in the rush to make the atom and hydrogen bombs. However, today quantum mechanics has reached a point where these ideas might be revived. They would help physics to solve some urgent conceptual problems, as well as reaching conclusions acceptable to both religion and faith.

San Jose Sharks - Torture?
by
Scott Semmler
The San Jose Sharks currently hold a 2-0 game lead over the Detroit Red Wings in the Western Conference Semi-Finals. The Sharks seem to have nothing holding them back from reaching the Western Conference Finals in back-to-back years. But what has some people doubting how far the Sharks can go is history. The Sharks fall notoriously short when it comes to pursuing the Stanley Cup in April and May. Year after year we see the Sharks become the favorite to win it all, and then see them falter when it comes to crucial games and series. The Sharks have never won a Stanley Cup, let alone get to the Stanley Cup Finals. Remind you of another Bay Area sports team?

Musings on Adam and Eve

John Caris
Over the years I have read all of the Christian Bible, some passages many times. As far as serious study and analysis, I have not yet progressed beyond Genesis 4. Yes, I am still seeking the deeper layers of meaning in the first four chapters of Genesis. It has been an intriguing journey, and each time I return, I bring back more insights. The story of Adam and Eve is particularly beguiling and has charmed me for over sixty years. Certainly, my present viewpoint has been influenced by all the esoteric studies I have completed and continue to explore, and so what follows are some recent musings about this mystical couple.

Washington Wines- Just East of Greatness
by
Jennifer Jordan
When people think of the wines of the northwest, chances are they ignore Washington and think mainly of Oregon. With its penchant for Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, and Pinot Noir, Oregon has seemingly left Washington state Pinot Poor. Yet, Oregon is not the only state in this upper region capable of making wine, Pinots or otherwise. Washington, over the past decade and a half, has developed into a major wine player and now has more than the ability to serve as Oregon's tag team partner. Move over timber, the northwest has a new baby.

George Washington - "Known OPSEC Practitioner"
by
Chris R Cox
Arguably, no President in history has received a legendary status equal to George Washington. His reputation as a gifted military leader stems partially from his unique perspective as the leader of counterinsurgency forces (as a young officer in the Seven Year's War) and as the leader of an insurgent army (in the Revolutionary War), as well as his understanding on secrecy and security.

George Washington, First President of the USA

When Barack Obama was inaugurated as President of the USA earlier this year, we were informed that he is the 44th President of the USA. It is natural to reflect on his 43 predecessors, and to wonder what they achieved George Washington was the very first President of the United States from 1789 to 1797. It is interesting to look at the back-ground which prepared him for the role of first President of the United States.

How Washington's Huskies Can Go 7-6 This Season and Earn a Bowl Bid
by
Ed Bagley
The University of Washington's Husky football team can go 7-6 this season and earn a bowl bid. I understand that the Huskies are now 2-2 on the year. With 5 more wins in the remaining 9 games, Washington would finish the year at 7-6. Where will those 5 victories come from? Perhaps Arizona and Washington State at home and Stanford, Oregon State and Hawaii on the road.

Dangerous Dog Ordinances, Stevens County, Washington - Title 12 - Straight Talk - Know Your Rights!
by
Pamela Dickman
Reacting to a series of dog attacks and problems in recent years in the counties, both Stevens County and Spokane County in Washington State (and other states nationwide) have adopted new regulations for dealing with potentially dangerous and vicious dogs. Since I am a citizen of Stevens County, Washington, I will speak to the new Title 20 ordinance adopted in December 2007 by Stevens County. Stevens County's new dangerous dog ordinances are designed to put the accountability on the owner and not just the animal.

2007 NFL Playoffs - Seattle Seahawks Croak as Packers Kick Them Silly in the Snowflakes, 42-20
by

Mike Holmgren's Seattle Seahawks did absolutely nothing to disturb the greatness of the NFL's most historic venue at Lambeau Field Saturday (1-12-08) in Green Bay, Wisconsin, home of the advancing Green Bay Packers. The Seahawks also did absolutely nothing Saturday to advance their chances of getting into their second Super Bowl appearance in 3 years. In short, the Seahawks defense did nothing but lose, 42-20.

Seattle Seahawks 2010 Strength of Schedule, Futures Odds and Predictions
by
Doc Moseman
At least in regard to the front office and on the coaching staff, it's hard to argue any team underwent a bigger facelift in the offseason than the Seattle Seahawks. It was definitely time for a change, since following a 2007 record of 10-6 and a division title, the Seahawks have won just nine games, including a 5-11 record last season that was full of injuries all over the field. Of course, the big move this offseason was hiring Pete Carroll from USC, and he was happy to come take Paul Allen's money and full control of the team ahead of those sanctions at USC.

Many Seattle fans grew physically ill watching the Seahawks NFL opener against the Buffalo Bills on the East Coast, and I was one of them. Know More About Dynamos!
by
Sadhna D
Dynamos are also known as electrical generators. They are used as a means of generator that produces direct current with the use of a commutator. They were the first electrical generators that were capable of delivering power for industry. They also serve as basis to foundation upon which many other later electric-power conversion devices were based. This includes the electric motor, the alternating-current alternator, and the rotary converter.

Emergency Flashlight, Dynamo May Be Your Answer

Movie Review: 21 Jump Street (2012)
by
Joel Massie
21 Jump Street begins with the basic concept of a buddy cop film, but cleverly integrates several additional comedic elements to create an entertaining admixture of humorous ideas. The notion of adults forced to repeat high school is compounded by both role reversal and status change. Though the surrounding jokes aren't always as creative as the situations, the sheer quantity of gags and eccentric characters keeps the hit-or-miss ratio less noticeable.

They're expecting just to keep an eye on their town while making sure to have some fun in the process. That's how it starts, but they soon run into what they believe to be is an alien invasion that has the threat of potentially taking over the world while using their town as a starting point for their plan. Movie Review - 21 Jump Street (2012) (R)
by
Chris Pandolfi
21 Jump Street treads on thin ice in an early scene where it's explained that the police department has revived a specialty division that started in the 1980s, that it's part of a trend of resurrecting and modernizing old programs due to a lack of original ideas, and that they're hoping the public won't notice. Nothing threatens to ruin a movie faster than winking at the audience in a showy display of self-referential humor. Fortunately, the filmmakers had the foresight to get this out of the way as quickly as possible.

Megamind - Movie Review
by
Josh Lyons
Megamind should provide a fun time for the kids (younger and older alike) and even give parents moments of entertainment and good laughs. It's a fun, if unremarkable, movie that provides just enough to be diverting and result in a good time for all ages. While providing some good laughs at the hands of Will Ferrell's wisecracks, Megamind doesn't manage to be as funny as it could have been. It does entertain, though, making it a good movie to pass the time. However, it won't be a movie that you'll be revisiting for repeat viewings.

Movie Review - The Sitter (2011) (R)
by
Chris Pandolfi
Yet again, I find myself in the position of not knowing how to feel. The Sitter is a strange movie - a raunchy comedy, buddy movie, and action picture all rolled into one. That it involves children in the same space as drug dealers, thugs, prostitutes, jewel heists, gunshots, fistfights, cocaine, and explosives is nothing short of reprehensible. That it works regardless is nothing short of miraculous.

by
Bruno Pisano
The thrill of representing your country and wearing your national soccer jersey with pride is something that is a dream for many soccer players but sometimes, players play for a country other than the one they were born in. Newcastle's Mike Ashley May Have Made A Mistake!
by
Dennis Neri
Kevin Keegan was 1 of my favourite players as he was so full of enthusiasm and was able to take limited football ability to the very top. He gave his manager, fans and teammates everything and you could not but admire him for that. He did not have the skills of George Best, Kenny Dalglish, Glenn Hoddle or Liam Brady.

Music Review of Off With Their Heads by Kaiser Chiefs
by
Darren Tan
The third album Off With Their Heads kicks off with cheeky "Spanish Metal". Pay attention to the keyboard, it's like a modern background music used in a cowboy flick, especially when two cowboys are preparing to draw their pistols for a gun fight.

Student Accommodation in Hyde Park, Leeds
by
Louise Nelhams
With a large student population and a growing number of businesses and industrial centres, Leeds is a bustling city full of life and opportunities. For a big city, property prices are reasonable for professionals wishing to purchase their own home, and for those studying in the city, there are an abundance of quality houses to rent. Leeds' student population tends to have its focus around the Headingley, Burley and Hyde Park area, with the latter being the best if you're looking for a balance between location, facilities and good value.

Racing at the Movies
by
Zack Mandell
Fans of action films love chase scenes, because they generally pack a ton of adrenaline and help make a movie more tense and exciting. Cars have also been used extensively in films as a status symbol. Other films show car racing instead of chases, with several having a plot that is centered on racing and nothing else.
