Are You Addicted To Your Acne Trigger?
by
Naweko San-Joyz
If a food or drink is the culprit behind your acne breakouts you may actually be addicted to your preferred culinary delight. The allergy addition could stem from the body's response to frequently consumed allergens.

10 London Ghosts
by
Clara Ros
Perhaps the most famous of all London ghost stories began in January 1762 when Elizabeth, the twelve-year- old daughter of a parish clerk called Richard Parsons, seemed to become the conduit through which a murder victim could accuse her killer from beyond the grave. Communicating largely through the standard system of coded knocks (one for yes, two for no), the ghost of Fanny Kent, a former lodger with the Parsons, told how she had been poisoned by her common-law husband, William Kent.

Modern Mystery Novels: Genre Bending in a Classic
by
Anthony Chatfield
The mystery novel is an old artform. Here are a few books that take the preset notions of that genre and mix them around in a paint shaker, reworking and reimagining how we read them.

Scientists Unlocking 'Black Box Immune System'
by
Jwesly Stifen
Treatments for diseases such as type one diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis have moved a step closer after scientists said they were succeeding in unraveling the "black box" of the human immune system. Researchers in the US claim to have made good progress in understanding the genes that regulate a group of white blood cells known as T cells, which are described as being the body's "frontline" defense. They say that increased knowledge of the genetic basis for this regulation could lead to treatments for autoimmune diseases, rather than just for their symptoms.

The Missed Opportunity of Physics in the Twentieth Century
by
Werner Thurau
Innumerable attempts have been made to bridge the gap between science and faith, usually from the side of faith and often by dressing up the argument in pseudo-scientific language to make it more palatable to scientists. Science has not been convinced because, in order to be convincing, scientific concepts must reach the point where they would also be acceptable to religion. There has been only partial success in this, possibly because the various bits of science that religion has declared acceptable have themselves been in a process of change. This article presents the evidence that certain well-regarded, modern physicists held views in the early twentieth century that could have led to a framework, based on two concepts of reality, within which both physics and faith would have been able to operate. These initiatives were discontinued in the rush to make the atom and hydrogen bombs. However, today quantum mechanics has reached a point where these ideas might be revived. They would help physics to solve some urgent conceptual problems, as well as reaching conclusions acceptable to both religion and faith.

Searching For a Soul Mate
by
Paula Maher
For a long, long time I knew "he" was out there and that as fate would have it I would find him. This was the period in my life when I struggled for survival alone. I had just come out of a marriage, that I had not been ready for in the first place - it is always much easier to see these things in retrospect - and for the first time in eleven and half years, I was single.

Olga V. Vladi
The independent publishers on the recommended reading list for this holiday season hail from around the country. The authors come from around the world. Just as the independents in the music, film, theater and art industries forge new paths, making available works and titles that would not be available to consumers otherwise, so do these independents in the publishing field, and Arbor Books ghostwriting and publishing services is proud of each and every one of them.
