"Sneakers" is a very entertaining and suspenseful film starring Robert Redford, Dan Aykroyd, Ben Kingsley, Mary McDonnell, River Phoenix, Sidney Poitier, and David Strathairn as a group of computer hackers who stumble upon the ultimate codebreaking machine. The movie is very exciting from start to finish. It is also culturally significant as it pertains to computer security.

Guess Who's Coming to Dinner Movie Review - Starring Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy
by
David Terr
"Guess Who's Coming to Dinner" is a very entertaining and socially relevant film regarding a mixed marriage. Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy do superb acting jobs as the parents of a white girl (Houghton) who falls in love and plans to marry a black man (Poitier). The rest of the acting is also very good and the story is quite moving.

Famous People from Miami
by
Jennifer Jordan
If you really researched it, chances are you could find someone famous who was born where you were. George Clooney, for example, was born in Lexington, Tim Allen was born in Denver, Whitney Houston was born in East Orange, and Claire Danes was born in a little known town called New York City. Odds are nearly every place in America has someone famous from there. To this notion, Miami is no exception.

I'm Not A Black Man - I'm Not A White Man - I'm a Man
by
Ray Turner
In my case a Christian man. Racism . . . the devils great deception. If he can divide us, he can weaken and destroy us. And he's alive and well in Americas social structure. In the first church, Acts 2:42-47 the Christians were of one accord, united, sharing the Word and caring for each other and others in the community. But Satan has managed to divide our nation. In this article I would like to share a great attitude to racism that was revealed in an old 1967 movie starring Sidney Poitier. Also some of my own thoughts.

The Colour of The Old West
by
Gregory V. Boulware
Remember Sidney Poitier and Harry Belafonte of "Buck and The Preacher? They were two Black characterizations of pioneers who communicated with the Native Americans. Honest trade and respect for one another prevailed in this kinship. Brother Jim Brown was another role model that we all looked up to.
