The Threat to Royal Mail in the Internet Age
by
Richard D Hoare
This article focuses on the unprecedented growth in online shopping, and the impact this has had on the courier industry. The growth in the delivery services sector has threatened the "equality for all" ethos of the Royal Mail service as it tries to adapt to the changing marketplace. This article details some of the things we can do to try and protect our historic and nationalized service.

Royal Mail - Modernised Or Traumatised?
by
David Molden
In 2001 the government installed a senior management team into the Royal Mail with a remit to modernise and repair the poor relations between management and unions. Instead of modernising they have succeeded in traumatising the entire organisation and creating a degree of alienation between managers and employees that we haven't seen since the miners strikes of the 80's.

Privatisation of Royal Mail Causes Parcel Senders to Look Elsewhere
by
Cole Rees
The Royal Mail has had its fair share of troubles recently; if people aren't protesting the closure of their local post office then they are getting concerned as some rogue postal workers are caught with an Aladdin's cave worth of parcels and letters that they have kept for themselves. With news that the Royal Mail is to potentially be privatised or broken up many people sending parcels and letters are beginning to look elsewhere when looking for a reliable carrier to send their parcels with.

Collete Johnson
Stopping Junk Mail being posted through your door is the desire of most of us. This article shows how you can go about it, and believe me, the Mail Preference Service is only a small part of the puzzle.

Dreams - "E-Mail From The Soul"
by
Sharon Stein
One of the great breakthrough discoveries of modern times was Freud's discovery of the unconscious mind and the idea that much of what drives us is outside our awareness. He considered dreams to be "the royal road to the unconscious." Unlike Freud, his colleague, C.G. Jung, thought the unconscious was far greater in scope and possibility. Jung believed it not only carried our repressed impulses, but was the fertile soil for all creative possibilities and the path to transformation and wholeness. The psychology he developed was oriented toward the soul.

Change Management During an E-Sourcing Implementation
by
Jamie Liddell
With annual procurement spend significantly in excess of £2 billion, Royal Mail - the UK's national postal service - is an organisation to which the phrase "economies of scale" clearly has particular significance. In 2006, in an effort to cut costs and increase efficiencies and effectiveness throughout and beyond its procurement team, Royal Mail embarked on a three-year transformation programme involving the implementation of the SAP E-sourcing platform, moving the organisation away from the previous paper-based sourcing process and unifying all Royal Mail procurement processes and stakeholders in a single system.

The Creative Evolution of Intellectual Properties: The Royal Critters/Whale Magic (TM) Project
by
John Joseph Kennedy
FROM UNDERACHIEVER TO HARVARD UNIVERSITY
BUCKINGHAM PALACE! A royal example of the creative evolution of a GREAT IDEA! In my teens I aspired to be a writer, but always made poor grades in English composition or any other writing assignments in high school and college. I was not the best speller and was graded on grammar, structure and technicalities--not on my innate God-given creativity. Then I took a leap of faith in my junior year of college and took a creative writing course. I submitted my very first short-story, Chad Jarman is 40 Today! My professor could not believe I had been so harshly judged and said I would one day be an award-winning author. She submitted my first short-story to Harvard's and I won the coveted seat to attend their Creative Writing Program! I was also invited back the next year based on another short-story....

Letter Bombs, Suspect Packages
Post Room Threats
by
Digby Farquart
Seven explosive devices have been posted in the last three weeks to offices related to motoring. The buildings are in London, Berkshire and Swansea. Until recently those recipients of the letter bombs may have never considered them to be any form of target. We don't naturally think of such attacks in these type of organisations and it may be that no risk assessment or appropriate protective security measures were in force, simply because an attitude might be "it wouldn't happen to us" ... but it did.
