Thanks to YouTube, I can get a quick dose of motivation to either train or head for the work out equipment, from a short video clip of Bruce Lee. Although the results can fluctuate by the minute, entering Lee's name produces 31,900 video clips to view. This is currently more than any other martial art movie star.

Detroit Travel - A Bicycle Tour Through Corktown and Mexicantown
by
Susannne Pacher
My discoveries of Detroit were slowly but surely coming to an end, and I had seen so many interesting places already in my whirlwind tour over the last four days. Just before I was ready to hop across the border to Windsor again, I had one more adventure on my schedule: a biking tour of Southwest Detroit to cover Corktown and Mexicantown. After a filling breakfast at the Inn on Ferry Street I took their complimentary shuttle downtown to Rivard Plaza, right next to the Detroit Riverwalk. At 10 am I met Kelly Kavanaugh, co-owner ofWheelhouse Detroit, Downtown Detroit's first bike rental facility for more than 30 years. Wheelhouse also provides bicycle repairs and service and offers a variety of tours of different Detroit neighbourhoods.

Detroit Travel - First Impressions, a Driving Tour and Dinner at Sinbad's at the Waterfront
by
Susannne Pacher
After my explorations in Windsor, I had about an hour and a half to explore Detroit on my own before my scheduled driving tour of the city. With its impressive 20th century architectural heritage, Detroit had long fascinated me and I was going to take the next four days to explore this city up close.

Detroit Travel - Sue Mosey and The Inn on Ferry Street - An Example of a Great Urban Vision
by
Susannne Pacher
My abode for my last two days in Detroit was the Inn on Ferry Street, a beautifully renovated complex of six historic buildings in the Midtown area of Detroit. It encompasses four mansions as well as two carriage houses that were each built for prominent Detroit families. After many years of languishing, these buildings have been re-functioned into 42 stunning guest rooms. The East Ferry Avenue Historic District is a historic area in Midtown Detroit, which is also referred to as Detroit's Cultural Centre. Well-preserved elegant mansions from the 1880s and 1890s line the streets and recall an era when these villas were owned by some of Detroit's wealthiest citizens. This historic district represents one of the largest and least altered collections of Detroit's leading architects of the late nineteenth century.

Detroit Travel - An Architectural Walking Tour of Detroit and a Visit to the Eastern Market
by
Susannne Pacher
On my second day in Detroit I got a great start to the day with a scrumptious breakfast at the just reopened Cadillac Hotel: a strawberry waffle with whipped cream. That's one menu item I can't resist. I was enjoying the sleek decor and pleasant ambience of the Boulevard Room restaurant of this historic hotel which has just been restored to glory after being shuttered for 24 years. Shortly after 8 am I was joined by Bob Goldsmith of Detroit Tour Connections who was about to take me on an architectural walking tour of Detroit. Bob is a Detroit native and a true enthusiast of the Motor City. In addition to his full-time profession as a lawyer, Bob dedicates his time to providing scheduled weekend walking tours, regular Wednesday walks as well as customized walking and bus tours for groups. Many of his tours are centered around specific themes, such as downtown churches, historic hotels, cool bars, places with unique art etc. His bus tours focus on such topics as Detroit's ethnic enclaves, the city's sports history, or the recent revitalization that has been taking place in Detroit.

Weddings in Detroit, Michigan
by
Robert Reno
A major traditional wedding trend I have been noticing is keeping the big day memorable and non-traditional. If you flip through the pages of a wedding magazine in Michigan, you will notice something.... all the featured weddings are UNIQUE. Do you want yours to be cookie cutter down to the linens, or will you allow your creative juices to express you and your fiance.

Graveyard Detroit
by
Zaid Shakir
Detroit, Michigan is an historic American city. From its humble roots as a French trading post in the early Eighteenth Century, it grew to become one of the largest cities in the United States. It was nearly burned to the ground by fire in 1805, and was scorched by the flames of race riots in 1863, 1943 and 1967.
