The Tour De France has to be one of the most gruelling sporting events on the planet, with riders taking on almost 2,500 km of undulating roads and mountainous regions across France. The concept of the tour was born in 1903 by Geo Lefevre, who worked as a journalist for L'Auto magazine who conceived the idea and obtained backing from his editor to put the plan in place.
