Zimmerman Moth
by
Aaron Taddiken
A pest that attacks Austrian, Ponderosa and Scotch pine. It prefers Austrian pine and is quite common along the Front Range. Considered a nuisance more than a damaging insect. This is arguable as repeated attacks often end up with branch failures because of the extensive tunneling the larvae do around branch unions on the trees.

Happy Birthday, Robert Zimmerman
by
Robert Herriman
May 24, 1941 was to me as a teenager and still is for many people the birthday of an American poet. Robert Zimmerman, or as he is more well known, Bob Dylan is one of the icons of modern music history and was one of my favorites for decades. It started in the mid-70s when I bought Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits. This was actually the third piece of vinyl I ever bought (Elton John's Greatest Hits and KISS Alive were the first two, pretty eclectic for a teenager, huh?).

Geoff Packard Embraces a Re-Invented Candide
by
Emily Cary
Geoff Packard stars in the title role of "Candide," the new Mary Zimmerman production that looks at the eternal optimist in darker glasses. Jettisoning his silly persona, the character emerges as a philosopher ready to begin live anew with his true love, Cunegonde, the beauty who has become an ugly hag.

Bob Dylan
by
Chad Koch
Crooning Bob, Hidden Muse Recently a Japanese writer named Junichi Saga was astonished and flattered to learn that passages from one of his books apparently found their way into a few of Bob Dylan's lyrics. In Bob Dylan's 2001 song, "Floater", he croons...

"Candide" Is Reimagined
by
Emily Cary
A new version of "Candide" retains many of Leonard Bernstein's songs, but the revision relies more heavily on Voltaire's original story. Mary Zimmerman is responsible for the rewrite which received raves during its Chicago premiere.
