We are very lucky in the UK in that we have lots of radio stations to listen to. The advent of Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) has meant that a lot more can be catered for. In an average week probably around 55% of all listening time will be to BBC stations.

As every household had a radio player, there was quite a variety of programs. In case you missed it, or you live outside the UK, I'm referring to an interview broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Moneybox radio program this weekend (on 28 August 2010). The interview in question was prompted by an enquiry from a listener who'd noticed that the price of gold had been rising consistently and dramatically over the last 10 years. He was therefore wondering if now might be a good time to invest in the yellow metal.
