Gareth Barry

Gareth Barry
Footballer Profile - Gareth Barry
by
Steve Yates
Amongst all the exotic names of strikers linked with Manchester City over the past few months, one of Mark Hughes' most astute pieces of transfer business might actually turn out to be Gareth Barry - a player some fans still mistakenly think of as a 'journeyman' footballer. In fact, Gareth Barry could well fall into that category of players that supporters don't fully appreciate until he suddenly isn't playing; someone who simply gets on with the important business in midfield and chips in with the occasional goal or two.

Can Money Help Manchester City Go All The Way This Season?
by
Suresh Iyer
The first catch of the summer was Gareth Barry snared away from Aston Villa, and out of the grasp of Liverpool. Next came Blackburn Rovers' striker Roque Santa Cruz, answering the call of his former manager Mark Hughes.

FIFA World Cup 2010 - England Vs Algeria Preview
by
Suresh Iyer
After the disappointment against USA in their opening match last Saturday, England will seek retribution against Algeria on Friday, in Cape Town. At least on paper this looks like a no-contest, but given the pressure of expectation, even a Brazil faltered against North Korea. And Algeria have nothing to lose. So we could still see an enthralling match of sorts.

Premier League Preview: Manchester City Vs Fulham
by
Suresh Iyer
Premier League match time returns to the City of Manchester, when Manchester City host Fulham on Sunday, February 27, in match week 28. City's last game, in match week 27, was a 2-1 loss away at Manchester United, while Fulham played out a goalless stalemate at home against Chelsea. On current form, Fulham will need more than a slice of luck to be able to salvage any points from this game.

Liverpool Value Crouch At Fifteen Million
by
Matthew Street
Peter Crouch revealed that he was unhappy spending a further season on the sidelines for Liverpool having only started just nine of Liverpool's fixtures this season but being the top scorer last season, supporters might have thought a more regular place would become available. The outcome of talks held between Crouch and Liverpool, has fuelled interest in the Striker, in particular Portsmouth.

Champions League Football - Does Aston Villa Have What it Takes?
by
Peri Witny
I have been following the Champion's League quite closely since it started in December being an ardent fan of football. One thing I have derived from the performance of the various teams is that although Martin O'Neill's team may yet be far from achieving the title yet it won't come as a surprise to me if they finished somewhere in the top 4 this season.

England Expects a Decent Strikeforce
by
Matthew Rowe
Looking at our squad to face Slovakia and then the Ukraine, our weakness is our strikeforce. Carlton Cole? Really? Heskey is an able foil, Crouch an impact sub... and Rooney is yet to find his best position or arguably form for his country. That is a severe paucity of options. Where are the world class English forwards? They are not abroad; are they being overlooked in the Premiership? Let's have a look at the top scoring Englishmen...

Will England Win the 2010 World Cup?

M James
How many will Rooney score? Will the famous robot dance return? Will the spirit of 1966 be in this team too? Do you think England will win the World Cup?
