The creator of Ralph Lauren polo shirts began his endeavor of creating this popular polo in 1972, complete with the Polo emblem that is still popular today. It first came out in 24 colors, but is now created in only 17. There are over 35 boutiques across the United States that carry these famous polos. Ralph Lauren was originally born in The Bronx, New York as Ralph Rueben Lifshitz. His brother changed his own and Ralph's last name to 'Lauren' when Ralph was 16 years old.

T'ai chi ch'uan, aka tai chi chuan and taijiquan, is taught as a classical martial art and longevity exercise. The many different schools will be explored in this article. The history of the art is reviewed. The author, Harvey Kurland, is a Clinical Exercise Physiologist, Health Educator, and well respected t'ai-chi ch'uan expert instructor with over 40 years of experience. He has studied Yang, Wu, Chen, Sun, and Kuang P'ing styles of t'ai-chi ch'uan. He currently teaches for the University of California Riverside Student Recreation Center, Redlands Aikikai, and Loma Linda University Drayson Center. He discusses the art from his own personal observation of the art by studying these styles under several well respected Grandmasters. Kurland is also author of the textbook Asian Mind-Body Techniques Revealed.
