2013 Hockey Hall of Fame Dilemma
by
Gary J. Wilson
In the past several seasons, we have witnessed some of the all time greatest players ever to lace up the skates call it quits. Two of the last three years have featured incredible Hall of Fame induction classes welcomed in Toronto. The 2004 class was inducted in 07 with the likes of Ron Francis, Al MacInnis, Mark Messier and Scott Stevens. The talent in that crew was matched two seasons later when 2006 gave us Brett Hull, Brian Leetch, Luc Robitaille, and Steve Yzerman. While both of those groups will be remembered as two of the all-time great entries, the voters will have their work cut out for them more than ever in 2013, when this year's potential crew comes due.

Fantasy Hockey - NHL Players on the Decline
by
Gary J. Wilson
If you've been playing fantasy hockey for a number of years, you inevitably start to get attached to certain players. You have it stuck in your head that the player is a star and has to be drafted. If you're interested in winning, you sometimes have to forget the past and acknowledge when the dog just can't run like he used to. The trends indicate that these boys are on the way down, if not out of relevance altogether. You have to know when a star player has maxed out his potential and has started down the slope to retirement or obscurity.

Top 10 Trade Deadline Deals of the Decade
by
Gary J. Wilson
As part of my series of articles reviewing the best and the worst of the past decade, I decided to take a look at the trade deadline deals that have gone down over the past ten years. Here are the "biggest" deals in terms of significance then and the longer term impact. We obviously don't know the full impact of some of the more recent deals, but we'll do our best to guess.

Fantasy Hockey Falling Stars For 2010-11
by
Gary J. Wilson
When it comes to drafting a winning fantasy hockey roster, it's important to know when the end has come, or at least, know when it's approaching. The players on this list may still offer a good bit of fantasy value, but you shouldn't expect them to perform at their historic levels going forward.

Fantasy Hockey - Players Finishing Strong Last Season
by
Gary J. Wilson
One important factor to consider as you're putting the finishing touches on your draft list, is how well the players performed down the stretch last season. For this post, I'll ignore the obvious players who were strong from start to finish and focus on those who really turned it on in the last quarter, from the Olympic break on. If that momentum carries into 2010-11, these guys could be on the way up in terms of fantasy value.

Stop! You're Both Right!
by
J Square Humboldt
When is it wrong to be right? In this ever-shrinking world, foreign-based names can be an issue for those who value accuracy. So, when the issue arises, do you show what you know or go with the flow?

The Dish: Olympic (Hockey) Fever!
by
Christopher Harris
We interview the best 'cappers and books here at the Dish, so we'd be remiss if we didn't weigh in on this whole Wayne Gretzky thing. So here goes: For an older gal, that Janet Jones is hot. There.

2006 Stanley Cup Final Preview
by
Doc Moseman
Though the weather outside doesn't make you think about hockey, the Stanley Cup finals start tonight. The match-up must be a complete nightmare for Gary Bettman, the NHL's commissioner. Edmonton hasn't been a marquee team since Wayne Gretzky got traded to Los Angeles, and people don't exactly think of hockey when they hear North Carolina. The TV ratings will be dismal, though that's nothing new for the league. It will, however, be a good series. Both teams have absolutely insane fans that will be out of their minds, and they both play an exciting brand of hockey.

NHL Season Predictions Part 2: Pacific
by
Dennis Biray
As the NHL season begins year two from its lockout, teams and players are eagerly trying to get ready and make a favorable impression to the rest of the league. This season aims to provide conundrums in terms of victors and loser similar to last year's winners of Carolina, Edmonton, and Buffalo or the losers of Toronto, Boston, and Vancouver. This update I will tackle the Pacific division in hopes of finding new changes, surprises, and disappointments.
