Occupy Wall Street is an economic revolution of immense importance that reflects the growing dissatisfaction with the way capitalism itself is playing with peoples lives. English Grammar 101: Capitalization After a Colon
by
KJ Hutchings-Olsson

It is often used as a connecting sign as well as indicating that part of a sentence follows on directly from the previous sentence. It can be confusing as to whether a sentence that follows a colon should begin with a capital or not. And why, for example, do we use colons between two sentences instead of a full stop or a semi-colon? This article has the answers.
