Sourcing Superstars - Raman Roy - Quatrro
by
Jamie Liddell
Raman Roy is a true legend in the outsourcing space, having played a crucial role in the development and growth of India's third-party BPO industry. A man with as good a claim as any to the title "Father of BPO", Roy began his career with TCS before moving - via American Express - to GECIS, the previous incarnation of Genpact, under Pramod Bhasin. In 2000 Roy went independent, setting up BPO trailblazers Spectramind, which was bought by Wipro (changing its name to Wipro BPO) in 2002.

Written in the Blood: Why Wait?
by
Duncan Edward Wright
A timely diagnosis can be all that stands between life and death; a patient suffering from a systemic infection requires immediate treatment, but the form thereof depends on the type of infection. Turning to the diagnostic toolkit, there is the option of blood culture, but the whole process may take up to a week, seven long days that the worst afflicted may not have. In a paper recently published in the journal Nature Communications (Liu et al. 2011 Nov 15;2:538), Liu and Wang describe a technique to capture bacteria from blood samples, in such a way that they can be directly analysed by spectroscopy. The implications of this rapid detection system are far-reaching: the authors note that with minor modifications, the protocol could be adapted to capture virus particles as well.

The Five Requirements Of an Adaptive Erp
by
Raman Dhooria
ERP solutions have also undergone multiple metamorphoses over the last few decades. They have adapted to the changing customer requirements and evolved over a period of time. Along the journey, there have been a lot of players who couldn't survive the onslaught of their own competitive environment and have either been acquired or perished.

The Most Important Yoga Pose You Are NOT Doing
by
Brandon Gilbert
This process of inversion is what makes headstand so powerful, particularly because it reverses the flow of gravity. Usually gravity is pulling us down and compressing our bodies, yet when we do inversions this process is completely reversed. So instead of working against us, gravity is working for us by decompressing our bodies and reversing the flow of the circulatory and lymphatic system.
