How To Carve A Turkey
How to Carve a Turkey

Carving a turkey is an easy process, and I'm going to highlight a couple of ways to do it. If you're a traditionalist and carve your turkey at the table in front of your guests, then the traditional approach is the one you should take. Otherwise if you are not too worried about presentation and the "wow factor" or you will be carving up the turkey in the kitchen, then the kitchen carving method may be right for you.

How To Carve A Turkey Like A Pro
by
Christine Szalay-Kudra
Roast turkey needs to stand for ten to twenty minutes after cooking, before you start to carve it. This lets the juices in the poultry redistribute and it also makes it easier to carve. While the bird is resting, you can make or finish off the side dishes that you are going to serve with it. If you are making one of the traditional Mexican foods that feature turkey like poultry in mole sauce, you will find that letting the bird rest makes it really succulent and that will make the finished dish even better.

How To Barbecue A Turkey
by

My mother never liked turkey. Loved Istanbul. Hated the bird. I don't really know whether it was the taste, the size, or the preparation that bothered her. Could have been the memory of getting a bustard, in Australia when I was six, because they didn't have turkeys, and how poorly that meal turned out. Maybe it was because we never really lived near any extended family and I spent much of my youth abroad, that the Thanksgiving tradition in my home was always kind of flexible.
