Get Away For Thanksgiving
by
Adam Singleton
Getting everyone together at Thanksgiving presents quite a challenge when you have an international branch or two of the family, but if you find yourselves in that situation why not consider travelling abroad to celebrate the holiday, rather than try to get everyone together in the States? Alternatively, you might just want to escape the holiday altogether and where better to do that than in the UK, where they don't have Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving Day - Cowboys Football
by
Rick Bedard
In 1960 the Cowboys joined the National Football League as an expansion team and in 1966 they hosted their first Thanksgiving Day classic at the Cotton Bowl. Since 1966 the Cowboys have hosted a game each year (since 1971 at Texas Stadium) with the exceptions of 1975 and 1977 when the St Louis Cardinals played host.

Christine Rankin
To me, an American Thanksgiving is all about the four "F's" - food, family, fun and football! Many American households rely on the four "F's" to make their Thanksgiving complete. I know in my house, the four "F's" are very important to a successful and fulfilling turkey day!

A Look at Thanksgiving Traditions: It Did Not Start Out the Way It Is Today - A Brief History
by
Scott Marcus
The most common thanksgiving holiday traditions are: giving thanks, thanksgiving day parade, football, breaking the wishbone, and turkey and trimmings. I am unclear how the genealogy section of a major website determined this; yet intuitively it appears correct. Ever curious (and always looking for content for my articles), I wondered how these came to be; so I did some research. I share.
