The Beauty of Writing: Tony Parsons and the NME Legacy
by
Stephen Marwell
For a more honest, entertaining and rewarding look at Britain today you could do a lot worse than former NME writer Tony Parson's latest book, 'Men from Boys.' The brutal honesty of a perceptive and prescient writer who has a perfect grasp of the story telling craft. To take the particular and make it universal takes a poet's eye for detail and a philosopher's mindset for truth.

New Bands/Artists: 14 For 2014
by
Michael Lee Jamison
Baby Pink are a new band worth taking note of. Forming a little over six months ago; the Brummies' might be one of the first 'new wave' bands to form on the back of the B-town movement (think Swim Deep/Peace). Success does breed success, but the youngsters have crafted their own niche, which hopefully won't see them constantly being pigeon holed with the above.

Electric Stimulator Use Rising For Osteoarthritis Treatment
by
Diana Valentine
An electrical stimulator is a relatively small piece of equipment but it's making a huge difference in the lives of those suffering from osteoarthritis. This type of arthritis is caused by wear and tear on the joints and is often found in the knees, especially in women. One common treatment is to strengthen the muscles around the joint through exercise however for a number of patients the process of exercising the joint actually exacerbates the original problem.

Music News - The Magazines That Shaped the Music Industry
by
Gerard Harris
Music news as we know it today developed out of the early magazines that caught onto the growth of the popular music industry early on in the 20th Century. Melody Maker was one of the first, introducing itself in 1926 (around the same time that the first electric guitars and amplifiers began to emerge) and targeting musicians. However, as music became more and more popular the music magazines of the day began to target the general public and the introduction of new, rival magazines hit the shelves.

Music Journalism in the UK
by
Andrew J Parker
Music journalism in the UK - as we know it - began to flourish in the early 1960s just as The Beatles and The Rolling Stones came to prominence. However, this article looks at the current leaders in music news and reviews journalism/media in the UK. NME The New Musical Express (or the NME) is a weekly music news magazine in the United Kingdom and is the best known (and oldest) music publication in the UK, which was started March 1952.

As indie-rock musicians become more ingrained in the mainstream music industry, men's fashion has been dramatically altered by the off-kilter fashion sense of people like Pete Doherty and Kasabian.
