Save Money As a Londoner: 4 Easy and Little-Known Tips for Locals
by
Jill Stuart, Ph.D.
London is full of opportunities to save or earn a bit of extra money here and there for those 'in the know'. The Character of London
by
Natalie Ruth Harris
I've just finished a trio of books that all happen to be set in London, so I figured it would thematically make sense to bash out my opinions in one go. I love reading about places that I can relate to (one of my favourite books when I lived in Cardiff for four years was Cardiff Dead by John Williams - go figure). It's always nice to have been to the places where your characters are going; you feel closer to their journey. Contemporary events set in London appeal to me even more - especially when they're accompanied by the 'character' of London (the location as a standalone character - very Thomas Hardy).

The New Tenant - A London Short Story
by
Stephen Kahn
A noise woke Teddy Bigelow. 2am and Hattersley Court should have been wrapped in blissful silence. The apartment block was showing its age but its flats could honestly boast "peaceful seclusion yet walking distance of the Tube" in any rental ad. No dogs, no loud music, no noisy parties, and definitely no children. As chairman of the residents' association he had no difficulty in imposing a ban on the latter even though it was not an actual clause in the letting agreement.
